Join Us Sunday, May 31st at 5pm as the Wesleyan Church of North America Prays Together

Meet the Team

Awakening's leadership team is comprised of dozens of partners who lead and serve in ministry Sunday morning and all week long. In addition to these tireless individuals, Awakening is a Christ Centered,  board governed and staff led congregation that strives to equip God’s people for meaningful ministry. Our staff are comprised of primarily bi-vocational leaders who have felt called to serve and shepherd the church.

Barry Cauthren

Lead Pastor

Barry grew up in Tarheel country, just outside of Charlotte, NC. He’s married to his love and ministry partner, Heather, and they have three sons; Caleb, Tyler, and Eli. Barry is a Marine turned preacher, a servant leader, and a communicator who loves to build relationships and help people find their identity in Christ. He loves hearing people's stories, seeing transformation, and encouraging the church outside of its comfort zone to serve and love others. Barry enjoys sports (especially baseball), fishing, the outdoors, and hanging with his friends and family.

Heather Cauthren

Worship Leader

Heather was raised just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. She loves music, people, creativity, and a good laugh. She enjoys the outdoors and is happiest when she's surrounded by people. Heather leads the worship team with passion and a dedication to truth. She loves engaging in worship that challenges us to get vulnerable before God as a community of people committed to stumbling together toward the heart of God. She loves quality time with friends and family - including her hubby, their three sons, and their dogs; Obi, Cooper, and Kona.

Tanya Hausman

Office Manager

Tanya was born and raised in Rochester, MN. She is married to her husband, Richard. They have two children, Kimberly and Jenna.  Tanya has a heart for the Awakening community and is honored to work part-time serving in an administrative capacity. Tanya stays busy working at the church, teaching part-time, and keeping up with her daughter's activities. When she does have a few minutes to spare, chances are you'll find her enjoying the outdoors or reading a good book.
